Black and white original photograph of Jacob Burinescu's grave stone (possibly on Staten Island). Jacob died of the Spanish flu on November 8, 1918. His mother's grave is located behind him. According to family history it lists the wrong age because at age 70 she went to get life insurance and they told her to register as 55 years old and that age was recorded at her death.
|Provenance||This photograph was donated by Annette Brenner who was the daugter of Celia (Burninescu) Appel. Celia lived with her parents, Jacob and Sarah Burinescu, and her five siblings at 97 Orchard Street in the early 20th Century. Annette Brenner donated this accession when she attended a Burinescu Family Reunion at the Tenement Museum on September 12, 2015.|
