Description Color photograph depicting the interior of Sidney Undergarment Company, located in the south basement storefront at 97 Orchard Street. Pictured from left to right, Sidney Meda, proprietor of Sidney Undergarment Company; Employee of Felty's Hats, located on second floor of 97 Orchard; and Frances Meda, Sidney Meda's wife. They are pictured drinking Metaxa Greek Brandy, and Jack Daniels and eating a Blimpie sandwich. According to Batya Halpern, Sidney's grandaugher, there was always liquor in the back of the store. Note the metal walls to the right and the latice work in the back is where the bathroom is now located. The store operated out of the south basement storefront at 97 Orchard Street during the 1970's. The store closed in 1979.
